For All That You Have Taught Me (2024)

A Solo Exhibition in Collaboration with

THE SERIES

A bespoke series of five large scale hand crafted and original textile artworks: celebrating milestones and representing influential relationships that shape our lives.

Another stepping stone on the journey of self-reflection and human observation. Nikki’s process on larger canvas has been an opportunity to examine scale and detail in a new way, which builds upon her debut series, Foremost Fragments (2021).

Marking the start of her 40th year, For All That You Have Taught Me  (2024) visually narrates the emotional intricacies of our journeys as humans as we approach milestones in our life; focusing particularly on those people in our lives that physically and metaphorically shape us.

“It is human nature to search for narrative in all things. Narrative formation occurs in the mind, yet requires a bodily and physical experience to be initiated.

— Nikki Heaton

Compassion, integrity, respect, kindness, courage and love. Each work explores these six tenets of kinship in 6 visual sections - juxtaposing in complex minimal harmony.
